Francisco Pizarro (1478-1571) was an Spanish colonizer that conquered the Inca Empire, in the current territory of Peru, after killing their emperor Atahualpa and the Inca lands were put under the control of the Spanish Empire.
After that he was named the governor of the Governorate of New Castile.

In 1532 he managed to defeat the Incas, their leader being at the time Atahualpa, and conquer Peru, where three years later he founded the new capital city of Lima.
