Muslim League founded in 1906 and Indian National Congress founded in 1885 were the two groups or parties which fought against the British imperialism. The Indian National Congress had a secular character while as Muslim League was founded mainly for political interests of Muslims. Both the parties fought against the British and participated in political process but finally it was the same Muslim League which demanded Independence with partition on religious lines owning to various factors and The Indian National Congress sacrificed the unity of India for speedy transfer of power.
