this prophecy is significant as it predicts what will happen to macbeth.
The prophecy in the play macbeth is significant becuase it presents the theme of fate in act 1 ,scene 3 the witches say "All hail macbeth,hail to thee, thane of cawdor." at first macbeth is confused as hhe was not yet told he has become thane. once ross arrives to give the news of him becoming thane of cawdor. he starts to belive what the witches say as he now thinks it is his fate when in actual fact it is his ambition to become king.
it also shows how ambition can destroy a person from a noble man to mad king. macbeth killed duncan due to the prophacy. the prophacy made him the man he became at the end his ambition took over him and his wife. he commited treason,murder and lied to people this caused gulit and that what drove his wife to die and him
