I believe the answer is: systematic desensitization.
systematic desensitization is a form of therapy that created i order to reduce the anxiety level that the patient experience when being exposed to a certain trigger. This therapy is being done by graduallu increasing the patient's exposure to the things that make them anxious. As they got used to it, over time their axiety would also be gone.
