During the ice age, conditions became particularly harsh. This led to humans having to find new ways to adapt and survive. Early humans did just that. One of the ways in which they did so was by developing tools out of bones and rock which enabled them to defend themselves, hunt and interact with the world around them. Moreover, these humans were able to make warm clothes out of the animals they hunted. Finally, Stone Age humans were able to use fire in order to cook their food and stay warm.
Three ways in which Stone Age humans adapted to their environment during the last ice age are the following:
- Humans built wooden tents and used animal skin as cover against the cold.
- Humans developed bones to make needles and sew clothes to cover themselves.
- Humans also move to habitable regions where the temperature is warmer.
- Some other adaptations include making fire to get warmth.
The ice age began over 2 million years ago and lasted till about 12 thousand years ago.
