12 ÷ 6 should be preformed first because it comes first from right to left. But this isn´t always the rule. Perentheses will always come first then multiplication/division, then addition and subtraction. Think of it as PMDAS or, Please Mom Don´t Add Salt! But same thing for addition/subtraction, whichever comes first from right to left you will preform first.
