The bar ab has a velocity at point a of va = [20,9] m/s and an angular velocity w = 23 rad/s. If the distance between a and b is .71 m what is the speed of point b

Respuesta :

speed of point A is given as

[tex]v_a = 20.9 m/s[/tex]

[tex]v_a = r*\omega[/tex]

here r = distance from the axis

so here we have

[tex]20.9 = r*23[/tex]

[tex]r  = 0.91 m[/tex]

now the distance of point A and B is 0.71 m

while the distance of axis from point A is 0.91 m

so distance of axis from point B will be given as

[tex] r = 0.91 + 0.71 = 1.62 m[/tex]

now for the speed of point b is given as

[tex]v = r \omega[/tex]

[tex]v = 1.62 * 23[/tex]

[tex]v = 37.26 m/s[/tex]

so end point B will move with speed 37.26 m/s
