Respuesta :

Neurons are specialized cells that allow different cells in our body to communicate. They are composed of a cell body with dendrites, axon, and axon terminals. The signal begins in the cell body and must base the axon hillock. Once there it transmits down the axon. Depending on if the axon is myelinated the signal may be fast or slow. Once the signal releases the axon terminals it will signal for neurotransmitters to be released into the synaptic cleft where it will transmit the signal to the next neuron. The neurotransmitters can be degraded, bind to receptors on the post synaptic neuron, or undergo reuptake by the presynaptic neuron.
