describe the reason why Andrew Jackson led and expedition of 3,000 men into Florida, what were his intentions?

Respuesta :

When I think of Andrew Jackson I always think of his unprofessional treatment of the Indians.

The Seminole tribe lived Florida. Florida was controlled by the Spaniards in 1818. He invaded the territory. He also went to Florida to prevent Florida from becoming a refuge place for slaves who escaped their slave owners. Due to his invasion of Florida it caused an international problem because the US was not at war with the Spanish. Through this incident a treaty was formed...the Adams-Onis Treaty aka Transcontinental Treaty or the Florida Purchase Treaty (1819) and Florida became part of the United States.

Hopefully this helped and if you need any clarifications please don't hesitate to let me know. Good luck.
