Prohibition was an era in American history in which the sale and distribution of alcohol became illegal. Alcohol was outlawed thanks to the 18th amendment. Even though alcohol became illegal, people still had a desire to consume it.

With this in mind, individuals started to sell acohol illegally due to the huge profits it would bring. This also resulted in gang violence, as different groups competed to sell alcohol in cities all across the US like Chicago and New York.
