Examples of each kind-
Simple- Some students like to study in the mornings.
Compound-I tried to speak Spanish, and my friend tried to speak English.
Complex-After they finished studying, Jack and Marie went to the movies
Compound Complex- Charlie could not hear his watch because it had stopped, he was worried.

Simple sentences have one independent clause.
Compound sentences have two independent clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction (nor, for, but,or, yet,so, and).
Complex sentences have one dependent clause joined by and independent clause.
Compound complex sentences have two independent clauses joined by one or more dependent clauses.
A dependent clause is a group of words with a subject and verb, an independent clause is a group of words that can stand alone as a sentence.
