The angle cot theta =3/4

We have given that the right angle  triangle

In triangle adjacent =9 and hypotenuse=15

we have to find the opposite side of theta and also find the cot theta.

What is Pythagorean theorem?

[tex]side ^{2} +side ^{2}=hypotenuse ^{2}[/tex]

By using the Pythagoras theorem we have,

[tex]15^{2} =9^2+x^{2} \\\\x^{2} =15^{2} -9^2\\225-81=x^{2} \\x^{2} =144\\x=+/-12[/tex]

[tex]cot(\theta)=\frac{adjucent}{opposite} \\\\cot(\theta)=\frac{9}{12} \\\\\cot(\theta)=3/4[/tex]

Therefore we get the angle cot theta =3/4
