Robber crabs are coconut crabs that are palm thieves. They have adapted branchiostegal lung that allows them to breathe on land along with excellent climbing skills.

What is adaptation?

Adaptation is the traits that are inherited and allow the survival and selection of the organisms. Robber crabs have similarly adapted their climbing skills and breathing skills so that they can survive on the land as they cannot swim. The branchiostegal lung is the most significant adaptation that helped in breathing.

Therefore, adaptation is the attribute that allows survival.
