2/3 x = 8 Multiply by 3 on both sides. The threes cancel on the left.
2/3 * 3 x = 8*3
2x = 24 Divide by 2
2x/2 = 24/2
x = 12

2/3 * 12 - 8 = 0
2* 4 - 8 = 0
0 = 0
