Hello!
In order to find the slope of a linear equation, you need two ordered pairs from the graph.
Once you have the two ordered pairs, you use the slope formula to find the slope. The formula is: [tex] \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}} [/tex].
With that formula, you assign the ordered pairs to [tex] y_{2} [/tex], [tex] y_{1} [/tex], [tex] x_{2} [/tex], and [tex] x_{1} [/tex].
Note that [tex] x_{1} [/tex] and [tex] y_{1} [/tex] must be assigned to one of the ordered pairs. [tex] x_{2} [/tex] and [tex] y_{2} [/tex] is assigned to the other ordered pair.
Then, you substitute the assigned ordered pairs into the formula and solve for the slope.
