Lawrence’s view may be similar to the view known as situationism when he doubts the very notion that there are such things as good character traits.
Lawrence believes this because as in the case of situationism, the good character traits, which is an example of a behavior isn’t a factor in a person’s decision in a particular situation.
Let’s take this situation as an example:
A good person is about to be killed by another person, and he kills the other person instead in self-defense. The situation itself directs the good person to kill the other person in order to save his own life. This situation is an example of situationism.
