Hello, Likap2!! Patient confidentially is taken extremely serious when dealing with people and their health. Three things I would tell a new employee about patient confidentiality would be to never discuss the patients charts or progress with anyone other than the patient or the parents/guardians, do not look at any other patients chart except the one you have been assigned, and do not talk about their charts or progress with your collages, friends, family, or anyone personal. If they do any of these three things, it violates HIPAA and it is to be taken seriously at all times. Hope I helped you!! Have a great evening!!
These three things include:
- Avoid discussing patients in public hallways,
- provide reasonable levels of privacy when communicating with and about patients in any manner.
- Message boards cannot contain any information on patients condition
