Which normal distribution has a wider​ spread: the one with mean 9 and standard deviation 5 or the one with mean 5 and standard deviation 9​?

The spread is controlled by the standard deviation. The mean value only controls where the center of the bell is.


So a normal distribution with a sigma of 9 is wider than one with a sigma of 5.
