ALGEBRA: Find the value of each variable

Hey, I'm not too quite sure about my answers, but I figured I'd give it a shot.
Let me show you what I did to get my answers.
1. Those little ticks on the triangles means that they're equal. A triangle has a sum of 180 so I took:
2x+2x+40=180
4x+40=180
4x=140
x=35
2. The curves on the sides means that they're also equal so I did:
2x+6=3x-6
2x=3x-12
-x=-12
x=12
4. This is similar to #1. Keep in mind that a right angle has a degree of 90.
5x+5x+90=180
10x+90=180
10x=90
x=9
5. Repeat.
6x+6+6x+6+2x=180
14x+12=180
14x=168
x=12
The value of x is 35.
The value of x is 12.
The value of x is 12.
The value of x is 9.
We have to find the value of each variable in the given diagram.
According to the question,
The sum of all three angles in the triangle is equal to 180 degrees.
1. The measure of the angle is 40 degrees, 2x and 2x,
Then,
The value of x is,
[tex]\rm = 2x+2x+40=180\\\\4x=180-40\\\\4x=140\\\\x=\dfrac{140}{40}\\\\x=35[/tex]
The value of x is 35.
2. The sum of the given sides are equal;
[tex]\rm 2x+6=3x-6\\\\2x-3x=-6-6\\\\-x=-12\\\\x=12[/tex]
The value of x is 12.
3. The measure of the angle is 90 degrees, 2x and 6x+6,
Then,
The value of x is,
[tex]\rm = 6x+6+2x+6x+6=180\\\\14x=180-12\\\\14x=168\\\\x=\dfrac{168}{14}\\\\x=12[/tex]
The value of x is 12.
4. The measure of the angle is 90 degrees, 5x and 5x,
Then,
The value of x is,
[tex]\rm 5x+5x+90=180\\\\10x=180-90\\\\10x=90\\\\x=\dfrac{90}{10}\\\\x=9[/tex]
The value of x is 9.
