Hi! Lets see how we can answer this, AND explain it!
Manifest destiny... Well, Manifest destiny was a movement that spread throughout the existing U.S that had the idea the their destiny, or fate, was to move westward and it was justified, and inevitable. President Polk, played a major part on obtaining the Oregon territory, a large chunk of modern day America that was currently owned by the British, and consisted of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. He campained from an expansionists point of view, promising to not compromise on the rich, beautiful, land of oregon territory. In hopes of getting the boundaries extended, and scaring the Brits, President Polk threatened to break the joint occupation agreement of the Oregon territory. His plan was successful and Britain extended the boundaries of the agreement to generous amounts. So, to summarize, yes, President Polk's attitude towards Manifest Destiny was positive, he was in favor of the idea and was the one who obtained one of the biggest chunks of territory the U.S acquired in that time, however; was he against the use of money to buy the territory? No! He was supportive of the expansion and success of the United States, and was not opposed to the use of money to aquire the lands desired.
Therefore, the answer would be D, He was a supporter of the american territorial expansion!
Hope I helped!
