The nucleic acids (specifically DNA and RNA) are the macromolecule that provides the blueprint for living things by storing and transmitting genetic information.

This is because the genetic information in our bodies is stored in our DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) undergoes the processes of transcription (where it is transformed into mRNA) and translation (where the mRNA is translated into a polypeptide or protein). These two processes allow the information encoded in our genes to be expressed throughout our bodies through the usage of another macromolecule, the proteins.

Hope this helps!
