It can also control individual states that will not cooperate with the rest. Federalists wanted a strong central government. The Federalists wanted a strong government and strong executive branch, whereas the anti-Federalists wanted a weaker central government. The Federalists did not want a bill of rights because they thought the new constitution was sufficient. Federalists were not afraid of the central government created by the Constitution because it had three branches the executive, legislative, and judicial that could limit each other’s power.
