What is the solution to the set of equations in the form (a, b)?

You can fill the second in in the first to get an equation with only b:

(b-2) - 3b = 22 =>

-4b-2 = 22 =>

-4b = 24

b = -6

a = -6-2 = -8

So (-8,-6) is the answer.
