In an equation in slope intercept form, y=mx+b, b=the y-intercept,while m= the slope. What do y and x represent?

Respuesta :

In the equation of a straight line (when the equation is written as y = mx + b), the slope is the number "m" that is multiplied on the x, and "b" is the y-intercept.
In the equation y = mx + b, m = slope of the line, and b = the y intercept (or in other words where the line starts on the y axis) meanwhile y and x are still just points on the graph. Y is the value for all points in consideration to the y-axis and X is the value for all points in consideration to the x-axis. It's like x and y (x,y) on any other graph
