Odysseus's men ignore his orders to leave quickly because they want to eat, drink, and enjoy themselves before setting off on their journey.
The protagonist and his men have been sailing the seas for many years, and finally they have found an island where they can rest and forget about their troubles for a little while. They want to have fun, eat, and drink, and not think about their incoming voyage.
However, Odysseus feels there's something wrong on the island and wants them to leave as soon as possible which unfortunately does not happen.
