A major oil spill happened 20 years ago in the Antarctic Ocean. Since then, scientists have been studying its effects on the food chains in this area, like the ones shown in the figure. What prediction can be made about how the presence of the oil spill continues to affect the animals shown in the web? Compare the effects now with those expected 20 years later and be sure to include specific examples of the impact on the different trophic levels.

i feel that the life or population of sea animals will continue to thrive as long as there isn't anymore oil spills. in twenty years the will probably be even more animals than there is now.with the technology we have now we will have tried to get all that oil out of the water and we would try to protect there environment as best we can.

Answer:

i think since there was an oil spill 20 years before, it was a devastating occurrence that disrupted the ecosystem once before. Therefore, There won't be as many organisms in the area as there was 20 years prior, but the technology and growth we've made since then will allow for us to protect the ecosystem from any more hazards. And in twenty years, there will be more organisms than before.
