Exotic pets, such as lizards and tarantulas, have increased in popularity. These animals are caught in the wild and sold as pets. What are two possible effects this action can have on biodiversity?

Respuesta :

The two biggest effects are extermination and disruption of the food chain.
The capturing of these animals reduces their numbers in the wild and in time they became scarce and on the verge of extinction.
The disruption of the food chain is another big effect which is caused by removing these animals from the wild. A gap is left by their removal, that causes their pray/food to rise in numbers, while the animals that were praying on them are left with less food which can cause decline in their number.

Answer: The answrs are option B and C. Populations of these animals could decrease in the wild.(B)

It could increase competition among predators of these organisms.(C)

Explanation: If these animals are taken from the wild, their population would obviously decrease in the wild. (B). Now because there are fewer of these animals in the wild, that means that the predators of these animals will have more competition as there is less food available. (c)
