Subtract 985 from 177 since Anna has 177 more songs than Ryelin. Then divide that answer by 2 which gives each one an equal amount then add 177 to one of the answers to get how many each girl has.

[tex]985 - 177 = 808[/tex]
[tex]808 \div 2 = 404[/tex]
[tex]404 + 177 = 581[/tex]
So Ryelin has 404 songs downloaded and Anna has 581 songs downloaded.
