The process was named after Bessemer, who discover the process in England and made it factory-available in the US, becoming one of the most successful man in the steel industry.

This leads ultimately to the crisis '29, as the market bubble exploded, leaving many companies with nothing or less. Some corporations however did have huge profit from this type of operations.

This fact dehumanized the workers, as they were seen as interchangeable part, with no rights at all. They were treated as pieces of the process, and so they had to fight for their rights, as numbers of hours working and so on.

They were also places used to preven these people from integrating with the other part of societies, as they often tended to stay in their neighbourhood without seeking a more integrative approach.
