Mutation and natural selection trigger the evolution of a species
Mutation means there is new variations, as the mutations are passed on to offspring this results in evolution.
Natural selection means a change in phenotypes (the visible traits of a species) of future generations to increase the fitness of a species. This is evolution in progress.
Human opinions do not influence evolution and an unchanged environment would not result in evolution.
