A supply line contains a two-phase mixture of steam and water at 240 °C. To determine the quality of the mixture a device called a throttling calorimeter is used. In this device a small sample of the two-phase mixture is bled off the line and expanded through a throttling valve to atmospheric pressure (100 kPa). The temperature of the steam sample, T2, is measured on the downstream side of the valve. Find the quality of the mixture in the supply line for the following two cases: T,-125 °C. T2 = 150 ℃ a. b.
