Mergers and acquisitions (M A) present many challenges–in quantity, diversity, and complexity–requiring diverse OD interventions used in combination at one or more of the following levels–individual, team, cross team/department integration, and organization-wide. Match the best description with each of the four M A levels.
1) Individual integration specific interventions to clarify changes in membership, goals, purpose, roles, and expectations about norms such as meetings, decision making, leadership, and communication
2) Team integration group leaders demonstrate their agreement on combined strategies, allowing opportunities for increased networking and contact; manage intergroup conflict; leadership development to increase management skills in cross-functional challenges
3) Cross team/department integration counseling, social support, disengagement efforts, grieving meetings; collective socialization tactics to increase embeddedness and reduce turnover among newcomers
4) Organization-wide integration organization leaders identify remaining untapped potential, allowing future benefits of participative, large-group interventions that can engage employees from both the acquiring and acquired organizations
