When prompted, click anywhere on the chromosome to select a gene. A sequence will light up when you are on a gene. Work through the transcription and then translation processes. Transcribe (copy) the gene. A DNA nucleotide will show up at the top of the gene. Click on the complementary RNA nucleotide and it will go into the space with a '?'. The mRNA chain will start to build on the left side of the page. When the mRNA has been constructed, the video will continue. Translate the mRNA sequence. For each mRNA codon, match the complementary anticodon of the tRNA to it. At the top of the tRNA is the amino acid that corresponds with that code. As you select the correct amino acid, it will link up to the peptide chain until complete and makes a protein. The activity repeats – do more for additional practice!
