Although he provides numerous counterpoints, Edmundson ultimately comes down on the side of writing, insisting that writing is one of 'the best acts' a human being can undertake, for the benefit of both the individual and the collective. In your view, does Edmundson make a strong case for 'real writing,' or, as Edmundson says, 'Writing which gives pleasure and instruction'? How well does he defend his claims in the face of seemingly overwhelming counter arguments?
