2.2 Principles of Design
The principles of design are concepts used to organize or arrange the elements of art. They describe the ways
that artists use the elements of art in a work of
art. The way in which these principles
are applied affects the
expressive content or the message of the work.
The principles are:
Balance
Proportion
Rhythm
Emphasis
Unity
Pattern
Repetition
Movement
Variety
