Choose one sociological theory you have studied in this unit (Functionalism, Marxism, Interactionism, Feminism, Post-Modernism etc) and use it to explain one social issue in Vietnam. Ensure that you write about Vietnam.
a) Functionalism: In Vietnam, functionalism can be applied to analyze the social issue of income inequality. The theory suggests that society is made up of interrelated parts that work together to maintain stability and order. In Vietnam, rapid economic growth has led to disparities in income distribution, with a significant portion of the population still living in poverty while others accumulate vast wealth. Functionalists might argue that this income inequality serves a purpose in society by motivating individuals to work harder to achieve success, thus contributing to economic growth. However, it can also lead to social unrest and discontent among those marginalized by the unequal distribution of resources.
