Online Karyotype Simulation
Directions:
1. Go to:
http://www.biology.arizona.edu/human bio/activities/karyotyping/karyotyping.html
2. Read the Intro and answer the lab questions below.
3. Click on "Patient Histories" to begin activity.
4. Click on "Complete Patient A's Karyotype."
5. Go through the activity. Write down the patient's notation, which includes the 1-total number of chromosomes,
2- the sex chromesomes, and 3-any missing or duplicated chromosomes. (Example: 47, XY, the man has an extra chromosome #18 which brings his total number of chromosomes to 47) Finally, write down the Diagnosis for the patient.
6. Next, repeat step 5 again for Patient B.
7. Finally, Repeat step 5 again for Patient C.
