My short-term outcome is that nurses in my unit report an 20% increased application of evidence-based bedside reports during shift change handoff by week 7. My desired long-term outcome is that 95% of shift handoff in my unit will be bedside report within 6 months. My data collection plan is a survey to see how often nurses use bedside report after education by week 7. The process starts with a pre-implement survey to collect internal data about bedside report usage. Then talked with the management team to communicate the necessity of an education session to promote bedside report use. Got the support from the management team. Find an appropriate time to hold an education session on bedside report application. 35% of the pre-implement survey shows nurses disagree bedside report "Report time is adequate", and 25% of surveys show nurses show neutral on "patient condition matches what I get in report", and only 70% of nurses use bedside reports often.
