2.following this terrible tragedy, many have criticized the neighbors' reaction to the violence and their decision to watch the multiple attacks but not intervene and help Kitty Genovese when she was being stabbed.  How would you describe the way Americans today view violence?  Are we shocked, entertained, excited, scared, or obsessed by it, etc., and why?
