NTSB Part 830 requires the operator of an aircraft to immediately notify the nearest NTSB field office when an aircraft accident occurs. The NTSB must also be notified for certain incidents, including:
a) Incidents involving military aircraft
b) Incidents involving amateur-built aircraft
c) Incidents involving only property damage
d) Incidents occurring outside of the United States airspace
