Combined, hippotherapy means horse treatment. It is a method that uses the movement of horses to stimulate sensory, neuromotor¹, and thought systems in people with disabilities. Hippotherapists (specially trained therapists who use horses as a tool) lead a carefully chosen horse with a long line² while their patients ride atop the horse.
