When the Ottoman Empire fell, the victorious European states partition much of the land in the Middle East.

It should be noted that the Ottoman Empire was a leading Islamic state. The partitioning of the Ottoman Empire after the war that took place led to the domination of the Middle East by Britain and France.

The United Kingdom received Iraq, Palestine, and present-day Jordan. France received Lebanon and Syria. Greece, Italy, and France split the lands of present-day Turkey. This led to the splitting of the Ottoman Empire.
