The agreement of past participles combined with être The past participle of verbs conjugated with etre agrees in gender and number with the subjects the subject is feminine singular, -e is added to the past participle; if the subject is masculine phy ral, -5 is added; and if the subject is feminine plural, -es is added. When a woman writes abound herself, for example, she will write je sues alee (for a man, the correct form is je suls alle). If a group of female persons is addressed, one writes vows fetes allies.
