erosion lowers elevations by removing soil and rock and transporting it elsewhere. a common form of erosion by glaciers is plucking; this is when ice flows over bedrock and the meltwater penetrates into cracks, freezes and expands, and eventually enlarges the crack(s) until the rock is detached and incorporated into the ice. another common form of glacial erosion is abrasion; this is when the flowing ice and/or incorporated debris within it slides over rock and scratches or polishes it. these eroded materials eventually end up increasing the elevations of areas by adding debris and sediment, known as till, to an area in a process known as deposition. look at the following series of thumbnails from the gigapan image, and determine if erosion is occurring or if deposition has occurred in each of these locations
