Teach for America (TFA) wants students to succeed. The organization places recent college graduates in struggling public schools. TFA trains these teachers for five weeks. During the training period, they learn special skills to help struggling students. Then, TFA teachers are placed in some of the poorest schools. The new teachers work as full-time teachers for at least two years. They help their students improve. TFA leaders say that the program helps give all students an equal opportunity to learn.
