Part 1- Assume a Renaissance Identity For this project, you'll assume the identity of a middle-class merchant man or woman living during the Renaissance. If you're a young woman, your name will be Mary Allsworth. If you're a young man, John Gooden. Your assignment is to "find out" as much as you can about your new identity. Using what you've learned in this chapter as well what you gather through a little research, decide how you look, act, and think in your Renaissance identity. Part 2 Describe Your Life Now, your assignment is to tell about a particular day in your Renaissance life. Choose one of the following scenarios and write a creative, descriptive piece about your life using the elements you discovered in Part 1 of the project. I Scenario 1: Write a letter to a friend in a friendly, conversational way describing your day. Example: Dear Elizabeth, Today I woke up early to help my mother sell fruit at the market. I couldn't find my best blue dress, so I had to wear the old brown dress instead. You know I hate that onel But, you'll never believe who I saw on the way to the market...
