3. Revise your narrative to include use of allusion. Guiding questions for revision:
• What is a reference that would create a vivid detail?
How could an allusion shape you as the character in the narrative?
• What does your vignette say about the nature of coming of age? How could an allusion help
develop this message/theme?

Revision 2: Simile/Metaphor
1. Find similes and metaphors in "Fish Cheeks" and read examples in Simile & Metaphor Examples in
Literature document.
2. Select a couple to mimic in your vignette.
3. Revise your vignette to include similes and metaphors. (Don't overdo it.) Guiding questions for
