In the previous lesson, titled Like It or Not, you completed a journal entry that asked you to write two different paragraphs--one that makes an argument using a strong analogy effectively and one that makes an argument using a weak or false analogy.

In a discussion post, copy and paste both paragraphs, but DON'T label which one uses the strong analogy and which one uses the weak analogy. (Consider flipping a coin to decide which paragraph will appear first in your post.)

Next, read the posts of at least two other students. Decide which paragraph uses a strong analogy and which uses a weak or false analogy. Respond to each post by explaining your reasons for thinking the weak analogy is weak. Then suggest yet another analogy that might work better.
